The writings of Wayne Bent

MORE THAN 70 STRONG CITY PAGES NOW AVAILABLE HERE

After years of using the Internet to share their beliefs with the world, members of the Lord Our Righteous Church ultimately went silent in July following their leader’s grand jury indictment for child sex crimes. That leader, Wayne Bent (aka Michael Travesser), led the way in the church’s collective “word fast”.

The LOR took down its Web site (strongcity.info) and its members did-away with their youtube and myspace sites.  All of this has amounted to a bit of frustration for people hoping to learn more about the church’s teachings.

While some of those youtube videos and myspace sites have re-emerged here at Beyond90Seconds.com and elsewhere, the volumous posts on strongcity.info became hard to find.

Earlier this summer, I acquired a collection of more than 70 pages that had appeared on strongcity.info and some of the LOR’s related Web sites.  The person who provided me with these files had used Google, archive.org and other means to download the writings over an extended period of time. While these methods are useful for obtaining “lost pages” from the Internet, they don’t often provide pictures.  So, you won’t find a rich collection of photos and graphics here.  Best to consider this resource “text” or “information” driven.

I suppose it’s worth mentioning here that–prior to obtaining these pages–I had also attempted to use Google’s cache feature and archive.org to obtain many of these same files, but by the time I had attempted to do so, most of the material was no longer available.

To be clear, others have also collected the writings of Strong City.  I’m not purporting to have a big “exclusive” here.

I do hope, though, that you will find this to be a convenient and useful collection of information.

It’s not the A-to-Z collection of everything penned by Wayne Bent (for example, I’m presently missing page 13 of “The Vision” series of posts), but you will find years of Bent’s writings below.

The collection here also features posts written by several members of Bent’s flock.

Why is this important?

Firstly, the opportunity to evaluate Bent’s own words further affords the opportunity to consider his side of this controversial story.  That, it seems to me, improves the aim of fairness.

And secondly, the reader might identify specific threads that he or she feels have relevance when considering the criminal charges in this case.

I hope you’ll agree that whether you have affection, disdain or simply a clinical curiosity for Wayne Bent, his writings do have relevance.
