In the Seattle area, this weekend’s 70 degree temperatures have many of us looking ahead to fun-filled days spent outside. But before I head to the beach or park, I thought this might be a good time to share some videos shot during the final weeks of winter.

Total Lunar Eclipse: December 10, 2011

Dramatic video of apartment fire near Mill Creek, WA
The Canon 7D footage turned out nicely, but the far more compelling video was shot on a Flip camera. That’s because I arrived on scene moments after firefighters snuffed the fire. While prior to the arrival of firefighters, Millwood Estates resident Peter Neilsen had already reached for his Flip cam.

I couldn’t yet see the Snohomish River, but after getting out of my SUV and taking a brief walk, I could hear the familiar sound of salmon “having a splash.”
